She was familiar with the venue which helped a great deal with logistics and communication, especially when she caught what could have been a major mix-up on my part (i.e., the time of the ceremony changed and we printed the invitations, but had failed to confirm with the venue!). Her communication with the other vendors, among them: musician, 2 bands, caterer, florist, bakery, 2 transportation companies, hair stylist, photographer, priest, AND the MOB and bride, was regular but not intrusive. She coordinated the timeline, acting as a sounding board, and managed ALL of the day-of activities.
